FPCC Fire Retardant Coating is a highly effective, water-based fire protection solution specifically designed for various plastic and composite materials. This intumescent coating forms a protective char layer when exposed to high heat or flames, safeguarding the underlying material.

Key Features

  • Broad Compatibility: Suitable for a wide range of materials, including plastic pipes (PVC, HDPE), Styrofoam, polyurethane foam, polystyrene (EPS, XPS), and more.
  • Fire Resistance: Tested and proven to enhance fire endurance, including successful evaluations under NFPA 701 and ASTM F1173-95 standards.
  • Non-Toxic: Safe for use once dried, with no toxic emissions or flammable components.
  • Environmentally Compliant: Meets U.S. Federal Regulations for lead content and hydrocarbon emissions.

Technical Specifications

  • Base: Aqueous resin solution
  • Flash Point: Non-flammable
  • Color: Clear (slight haze below 50°F)
  • Scrub Resistance: Withstands up to 1,000 cycles

Application Instructions

  1. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  2. Apply using a sprayer, holding it 8–12 inches from the surface.
  3. Use three coats, allowing each to dry fully:
    • Plastic pipes: Coverage per coat 1,050 sq. ft./gallon; final coat at 350 sq. ft./gallon.
    • Foam materials: Coverage per coat 600 sq. ft./gallon; final coat at 200 sq. ft./gallon.

Usage Recommendations
FPCC is ideal for pressurized plastic and composite piping systems, as well as insulation materials like Styrofoam and polyurethane foam. It also functions as a primer under or over latex paints, enhancing adhesion and fire resistance.

Environmental and Safety Notes

  • Non-toxic and non-harmful to plants or animals when overspray occurs.
  • Clean equipment and tools promptly with a bleach-water solution (1:4 ratio).
